This change is VERY HOT!!!!! For the I6 head, 'C' upper and lower mold plate assemblies: In the upper mold cavity, 4 new fill guns need to be added to solve a "underfil condition" that is exacerbated with the transition from T170 beads to the T175 beads. This specific change involves the bead manifolds, plumbing, plumbing manifolds, cover plates, glastherm insulation, and water spray nozzles. Possibly involving steam baffolds and support posts too. This change involves both cavity locations (two on). In the lower mold cavity, Replace the lightener pins on the head bolt bosses on the intake side of the lower mold plate (6 locations) with flush removeable plugs. Also, refer to the testing work that the pattern shop is doing with the 2008 beta tool. Note: Reference temporary PPCR LF06-301and temporary TCR 6955 for a historical background. The CRITICAL time line is as follows: Design needs to be completed by 23JN06 per Jim Bujouves. Actual tool needs to be shipped by 16JN06 to TEI. Tool needs to return from TEI to GMPT SMCO by 21JL06.
