Revise the Cope gating design to protrude out 6.35mm (¼”) around the diameter of the Sprue post base. To be done by adding stocking & revising draft. Sand is constantly washing out the gating, causing a back draft condition & need for repair. The added stock dramatically reduces the washing affect & need for repair. With the increased size the cope gating insert will cover the pattern insert lifting hole covers, possible interfere with pan head screws that hold covers, & sand stickers. To eliminate interference/sticker issue, revise cover design(s) to accept a FHCS & substitute both lift & validation cover pan screws with FHCS in cope assembly (14 places). Since the covers are also used in the drag assembly, subsitute FHCS in it as well.
