All of the original CAD plumbing assembly models need to be updated to the actual mold tool builds. As in the past, and on the current Lost Foam L850 Block, the plumbing assemblies are usually the last models to be developed and therefore are not consistent with the actual mold tool builds. In an effort to duplicate the mold tool plumbing configuration from the original 15 L850 mold tools, the designer needs to go out into SMCO’s pattern shop and look at, inspect, and measure equipments # 2- #4, upper and lower mold halves (not equipment #1’s because of “lessons” learned from the initial tools being shuttled into the machines and the mistakes found). Bill Bielak, of TEI, is the person responsible for the “mapping” of all of the plumbing on all of the L850 Block mold tools.
