CMI is receiving castings with excess metal in the bottom of the bore. Trapped air may be causing the voids in the core which would then cause the excess metal on the casting. This is a chronic repair area and cannot be seen in the core making process. On the IBCC cover, add six(6) 3/8" mesh screen vents in the areas shown. The screen hole will have to be drilled at an angle but should hit the IBCC cover ligthner pocket. This was previously tried & proved successful under temp. PPCR #PS08-83
