Aluminum is by-passing the filters in the gating system. This may cause porosity/gas defects in the area adjacent to where the by-passing is occurring in the rear housing. Modify the filter print to seal the area that the Al. is by-passing the filter. Also, cut a bead on the side of the filter print to push the filter in one direction. This is to elminate the excess clearance that is between the filter and the filter print that is created by the draft of the pattern. This will also reduce any Al. by-passing the filter. This change will be done as the filter prints of the pattern show wear and have to be replaced. These were tested under PPCR# PS09-23 and 30.
