During the normal cycle of running the STV core box , on the flat surface of the S core, soft spots occur. The operator shuts the machine down and cleans the screens in the area. Cores will come out good for a while but the condition comes back. STV core box; Add a 1/2" #40 mesh screen in the area shown on the attached on the S core. This was trialed on core box #0 per Temporary PPCR #PS-09-21 and eliminated the soft spot. This will reduce downtime and improve core quality.
