Adjust the process model (w/ a process feature) to correct the dimensional limitation in the pan rail of the block prevents us from making adjustments that will allow the oilfilter bowl dimensions to improve. Make the RTV groove around hit point 409 deeper by 0.75 mm. This will allow the Upper tolerance limit for this hit point to be opened up from 1.00 mm to 1.75 mm. This change will allow assembly adjustment (A to E) that will improve the rest of the hit points in the pan rail and the oilfilter bowl. See attachment for dimensions in the pan rail and the area where RTV groove modification will be made. Improve Cpk for oilfilter bowl and pan rail dimensions.
