On the left hand jacket there is an area where the tamp pin scar sometimes doesn't get defined. This will cause a scrap casting if it doesn't get definned. There is a gap between the jacket locating plate and the core so the plate doesn't touch the scar. On the left hand jacket EOAT locating plate add a 3 mm high pad to the plate so that it will crush the tamp pin scar. This was initially tested by gluing a pad to the plate to check its effectiveness and showed that it did crush the excess sand without damaging the core.see attached For the permanent change, the pad will be permanently attached to the plate. When the pad is used, the brushes that were put in place can be removed. Eliminate the chance of a tamp pin scar to make a scrap casting.
