The screw seat geometry located on the backside of both slab cores has a vent slot. The vent slot on the outboard locations is in the cross-car direction. When the water jacket screws are installed and tightened down, the head of the screw wants to slip down into the vent slot putting a bending force on the shank of the screw and a load on the thinest section of water jacket legs. This is resulting in cracked/broken water jacket legs. To eliminate this rotate the direction of the vent slot to be endways. This requires rotating the screw pin inserts in the J/K upper insert assembly by moving the location of the clocking dowel by 90deg.
