554 & 555 mold designs: HFV6 SPM SMOKE PLATE The smoke plate can not be remove without removing the 2 end gibs and grease blocks. Add stock to the frame as shown. Match the smoke plate with this new shape. Increase the clearance in the frame to allow a 1/8” gap around the existing perimeter of the smoke plate. Reduce the amount of M6 bolts by 50% with new equal spacing. All bolts must be removed with a battery operated gun without interference with the frame sidewalls adjacent to the gibs. With the new design, the smoke plate can pivot while clearing the pour end gib and be extracted out of the frame. Make sure that this can happen in the designs. In the 554 & 555 mold assembly designs, we will maintain 2 frame designs and 2 smoke box plate designs. Molds #2-9 will maintain the original design and build. Molds #10-17 will maintain the new designs and build.
