Defiance is experiencing excess metal/fin falling into the water jacket snout feature of the GEN IV 181 block casting. Cause is porous cores and/or missing sand. This condition is occuring at the blow tube scars. Too much sand is being retained by the blow tips and not leaving enough sand for the ejector pins to tamp. To address this condition, reduce the blow tip penentration into the cavity by .060". This will leave more sand in the cavity for a proper tamp.
