1) The groove design used on the bolster (box car) door to retain 5/16” O-ring cord stock seal is incorrect for the application in which it is being used. Current groove design is square, however since the doors are taken on and off for core box cleaning, the groove should be a dovetail. Correct Standard ID#-COREBOX-S-3 to include the dovetail profile for the this seal application. Revise seal file AWH48642 to be a common deformed part file and create deform of seal in door assembly file. 2) Dovetail groove design as specified for O-ring core stock seals 1 & 8 per standard ID#-COREBOX-S-3 are not to industry standard for proper retention of a round seal. Revise dovetail groove shape to industry standards (will require extrapolation to determine correct sizing for seals larger than ¼” (.275” actual) 3) The seal files referenced in standard ID#-COREBOX-S-3 are not deformable &/or have descriptions with a specific use defined. Each needs to be setup as a common deformable part file. This means each must have a ‘Library’ type file name, description, & material specification.
