Current design of keycore gas plate has its seal overlapping the core box blow tube scars on all cores. This will allow for gas leaks to occur. Further investigation of the design revealed that gas leaks may be due to the inability of the gas to properly flow through the key core area. There may be a back pressure issue causing gas to blow out through the path(s) of least resistance. The gas should be forced down through the key core blow tube holes between cores. Unfortunately the gas inlet pocket on the current gas plate does not overlap the blow tube holes. All of the gas is being forced through (2) 1” vents (one at each end of plate) and through a designed in 1.5mm gap between bottom of gas plate and top of cores (Assuming key core end stop plates aren’t worn allowing seals to fully compress). *Redesign gas plate with a revised gas inlet pocket & seals to allow for proper gassing.
