The Duramax crankcase package is long over entire stack-up of end & barrel cores. When the keycore fixture closes together, the nest and carriages not are contacting stops. This in effect allows the fixture to over squeeze cores, causing core crack/chip outs on the crank half rounds. To prevent core defect and allow stops to contact, revise the carriage and nest assemblies as follows: 1) Add .010" shim to the H-core carriage assembly stops 2) Add .005" shim to stationary nest stops of the moveable nest assembly 3) Add .015" shim to the G-core carriage assembly stops
